Grappla ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use our website and mobile application (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

To provide the Service, we may collect:

  • Account information: name, email, password (stored securely), school, belt level, birthday
  • Profile information: phone number, height, weight (optional)
  • Training data: match records, notes, and related performance/analytics data you create
  • Voice inputs: if you use voice features, we collect the voice recording you make in the app. That recording is sent to our servers to produce transcriptions and structured sparring notes. We do not store or retain the raw audio in our database.
  • Technical data: basic device/app diagnostics and usage data to improve reliability
  • Identifiers: user/account identifiers used for authentication and subscription status

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Create and manage your account
  • Process your training data and generate insights/statistics
  • Process audio you submit for AI-assisted transcription
  • Communicate with you about support, security, and product updates
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud and technical issues

3. Payments

We do not store your payment card details on our servers. Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Stripe. We may use RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlements.

4. Voice and AI Processing

When you use the voice feature, your recording is sent to our backend. We use OpenAI for speech-to-text and structuring your sparring notes. Data is sent over encrypted connections and is not used to train AI models.

  • AWS (hosting and data storage)

6. Data Retention

We retain your information as long as necessary to provide the Service. If you request deletion, visit our Delete Account page. We do not retain raw audio recordings after processing.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. Contact us to exercise these rights.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
